yarn along :: 9 january 2013

(stitch markers made by my bro-in-law! while knitting a chainmaille hat)

I'm still plugging along on my acer cardigan, but have realized the pattern requires attention. I'm going to need to find a more mindless pattern for play dates and such. I'm thinking a cowl for my mom.

I finished reading The Snow Child and I highly recommend it. I don't know if it quite fits into the magical realism category, but I haven't read anything like it since my Latino lit classes in college. And all the snow and beauty were a perfect fit for January.

I have book club tonight. If you have any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I'm over half way through that book, and I love it!! I like to have no brainer knitting around as well, a cowl sounds perfect!!

  2. This book may have to go on my TO READ list. Great project, too. I have stuff that needs thinking that I can never do with some people around. I have one friend that is perfectly fine sitting knitting quiet when we need that.
